The Plovers 2020

Shortly after losing two chicks during their third attempt at parenthood, (one most likely fell off the roof and the other drowned in heavy rain), the couple tried again.

Three eggs resulted, one was immediately discarded, then the Mother seemed to take little interest in sitting on them, preferring to sit and watch them.

Mating resumed, which had not happened during the previous three attempts once egg-sitting began.

Then they left the eggs for hours at a time.

The Raven, who had noted the eggs in a previous fly-by, swooped. He obviously has little mouths to feed.

Then the Mynas' cleanup crew arrived, as usual.

These pics haven't been seen on Facebook before, for fear of upsetting some viewers.

Use viewer discretion when clicking this collage of pics, nature can be cruel, but watching-it close-up is captivating.
